TOP 12 TRAVEL MUST HAVES

Here is my ultimate list of travel must haves for the whole family!

Packing Cubes

I am obsessed with these from Amazon, linked here! They save SO much space in your suitcase.

Toiletry Bag

Who doesn’t love a good toiletry bag?? I LOVE this one because it has so many spots to put all your things. You can find it here.

Travel Backpack

UGH, I love this backpack!! I used this when we went to Italy and it held SO much stuff despite being on the smaller side. It has multiple pockets for everything you need traveling and it even has access for a charging port that is hidden. You can find my fav backpack here.

I also suggest bringing a folder with all your documents printed out (hotel stay, covid test results, flight info, etc.). You never know when your phone will die or if you’ll have spotty internet!

Wireless Headphones

I never thought in a million years that I would wear beats. But they are SO comfortable and easy to wear. I always bring them with me on a longer trip since they are wireless and connect to any oof my devices via bluetooth. Don’t forget to bring the cord though! On long haul flights, you can plug these in to use instead of the crappy ones the airline provides to you! Click here for the link!

LL Bean Suitcase

My husband and I just bought both the large suitcase and carry on size in the Olive color for our trip to Italy. We love them! They are hard sided and super sturdy. They seemed to stand up well to all the beating suitcases get when you travel as well! There are no frills inside either (which I like in a suitcase) so my packing cubes fit perfect! Click on the photo for the link!

Devices

Don’t forget all your devices at home! I always am sure to bring an iPad, my phone (duh), and a computer with me on a long haul trip. Especially if you have kids with you! They will go a long way. Don’t forget your chargers!!

Neck Pillow

This was such a life saver on our trip to Italy! I will forsake be using this on future trips. The best part about this neck pillow is that it rolls up into the smaller bag, it comes with ear plugs, and an eye mask #hellyeah. I used everything that came with this and was so glad we purchased these. Follow this link.

Passport and Vaccine Card Holder

This thing was great when traveling abroad. I highly recommend getting something like this! When we went to Italy you have to show your vaccine card everywhere, this was an easy way of keeping it safe and handy in your purse when you were out and about. It was large enough to hold all my credit cards, passport, vaccine card, money, and my boarding ticket (at the airport). Here is the link!

At Home COVID Tests

I talk about these in my post Traveling to Florence During a Pandemic and these are such a life saver if you are traveling and need a COVID test! I’m not gonna lie, they are pricey, but honestly it’s so worth it. It alleviates the headache of trying to figure out where to go in a foreign country, or just having them on hand at home!

Last, but not least!

Bring your fav Purse. I suggest bringing a smaller one that will still fit your phone and passport holder. I brought one that I’ve had for years that goes with everything! It held everything I needed and was secure in case anyone tried to take anything out of it (pick pocketers- which we did NOT run into). Here is my list of things to keep in your purse:

  • Chapstick

  • Small lotion

  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Passport/Vaccine holder

  • Phone

  • Bandaids (just in case)

  • Hair ties or bobby pins

For the Plane Ride:

Wear comfortable shoes! You will do a lot of walking and sitting on a plane with sore feet is NOT enjoyable. Lastly, DRESS IN LAYERS! I wore some comfy sweatpants that were also stylish, long sleeve shirt, and a sweatshirt. That way I could take the layers off if I needed to or put them back on if it was getting chilly! Linked below are my all time fav comfy shoes and sweatpants:

Fav Sweatpants for the plane ride

You can find them here.

Classic Vans

I am thoroughly obsessed with vans, I have black, white, checkered, you name it really. I decided to bring my black and white vans with on the trip since I wear them so often and was SO glad I did! They go with everything and oh so cute. You can find them here!
