5 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR WHITE BEDDING WHITE

Ugh, I’m such a sucker for white bedding! How can you not be though??? It always reminds me of being in a high end hotel and gives off the calming vibes we all need at the end of long day, am I right? But let’s be honest… we are all human and we are MESSY.

If you didn’t know I live with 2 young children who happen to be messy boys, a messy husband, and a dog who also is a disgusting mess. So…. white bedding? Yea I have it. And it is SO worth it people. Here is my number one tip for keeping your white bedding white:

  1. Oxiclean White Revive

If you have not tried Oxiclean for laundry, do it now. If you have anything that is white, Oxiclean White Revival will be your BFF!

I love white clothing and bedding. It is clean, crisp, and oh so chic. Well, at least when it stays white.

For YEARS I struggled with my white clothes and bedding turning the awful yellow color due to whatever. Usually, I would try to do some sort of fancy laundry technique and generally… it didn’t work well.

So I took the plunge of buying ALL white bedding this past year. I know what you’re thinking, you’re stupid! You might be right, but I wanted that chic bedding that was tranquil and calming. When I came across Oxiclean White Revive, I wasn’t going to hope for the best to just be let down. I have a dog and two kids, believe me, my stuff gets #nasty.

The first time I washed my bedding with Oxiclean I was BLOWN away. All the little stains that were there before were GONE. So then I put it to the real test. I had some white sweatshirts that had its fair share of use and unfortunately turned yellow. I let my sweatshirt soak as recommended on the back of the container. Honestly, I was so impressed! It actually made my sweatshirt white again!! #Hallelujah. If you have white clothing or bedding, I highly recommend buying this product! It truly works wonders. Here is my next tip:

2. Wash as often as possible

God I hate laundry. If I could take it away and never do it again I would be so satisfied! If I could I totally would have someone come in and do it for me, that’s how much I cannot stand doing laundry.

Here’s the thing… after investing in a quality bedding that I wanted for YEARS, I knew that I had to take good care of it and that meant washing it as often as possible. I try to wash my bedding at least every 1-2 weeks. Yes, it’s a total pain to wash it every week, but the more I thought about it, the more disgusted I was that I didn’t wash my previous bedding more! Every single time I wash my bedding it gets a hefty dose of Oxiclean White Revive and it truly helps keep the color a crisp white and gets rid of any stains that made it way onto the bedding.

Shoot for every 1 to 2 weeks for your washing!

3. Take Care of stains Immediately!!

As you can guess, my bedding still will get stains from time to time from the kiddos or dog. As soon as I realize there is a stain I take care of it immediately! I know this can be somewhat of an annoyance, but it is so important to do this right away honestly.

If you can take care of a stain immediately this will ultimately keep your bedding white longer and keep it as clean as possible. Usually if I notice a small stain I will grab out my handy Tide to Go stick and it will take care of the problem. I also will use water and a little of detergent to get a bigger stain out that likes to be pesky and that will do the trick as well.

4. Avoid Eating in Bed

I won’t lie, I love having coffee and a snack in bed. There is something about it that is so relaxing and puts me at ease. I’m not telling you to completely stop eating in bed, because let’s be honest, I still do too. BUT what I am saying is avoid eating messy things in bed. If for some reason you spill (like me) follow the step #3. As long as you take care of a stain immediately you should be good to go.

5. Take off Makeup before bed!

UGH. First off, I hate makeup. Second, I hate taking make up off. I’ve never been one to wear a lot of makeup and the whole process of putting it on and then later taking it off just irritates me to be honest. If you are someone who likes to wear makeup, do yourself a favor and make sure to take everything off before you lay down on your crisp white sheets! Not only will it make a mess on your sheets, it will also be a hot mess for your skin.

***** DO NOT USE BLEACH ON WHITE BEDDING!! *****

I know, I know why wouldn’t you use bleach on white bedding? Makes sense right? NO. Don’t do it. It will actually make your bedding yellow in the end. Bleach will break down the fibers in your bedding which no one wants… so put the bleach down and try my other methods for success! Tell me, what do you do to keep your whites white???
